The “Eddy Merckx” is an intense and physical route, just like the hunger for victory of one of the world’s cycling heroes. It starts from Riccione and goes to Montescudo, a medieval stronghold of the Malatestas just over 20 km from the Riviera, passing through the vineyards and the Corianese cellars.
Just a few kilometres from the sea, you will be immersed in dirt and white roads with a wonderful and characteristic landscape: vineyards, olive groves and wheat fields. Before arriving in the hamlet of Montescudo you will leave the countryside at the height of a hill on the Gothic line devastated by the Second World War: Trarivi. Then you will be ready to conquer the highest point of the route, 386 meters above sea level.
